The Process

Four Simple Steps

Dig within season and by the rules

Only harvest ginseng during the legal season, and only plants old enough and mature enough to dig (details below). This keeps the resource going for next season and keeps you on the right side of Kentucky law.

Call ahead

Give us a call at (606) 843-0658 to confirm today's rates, what we're currently buying, and our hours. Prices move with the market, so don't assume last week's rate still holds.

Bring it in and get weighed

Roots and bark are weighed in front of you on a calibrated scale. We'll walk you through grading and condition if it affects the price.

Get paid on the spot

No waiting around — you're paid cash the same day, based on that day's rate.

Know The Law

Kentucky Ginseng Season & Rules

Kentucky's ginseng harvest and sale dates are set by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (302 KAR 45:010). Here's the short version — when in doubt, check with the KDA directly.
